We are human and our Religion is humanity!

So, today is the 2618th Jayanti of Lord Mahavir. On this occasion, as mentioned in my previous blog, I am starting to write Vargshikshak’s blogs on ‘Humanity’.

We are humans. We love our religion. But that doesn’t mean that we have to hate other religions. A peaceful world is our Destiny.

Question::

Why do people hate other religions other than their own?

Because, we are interested in proving that we belong to a better religion. We tend to disregard others’ opinions. Every religion has its own ideology. Ideologies stem from different thought processes. We only need to understand them and accept that differences are not an obstacle but a way forward to diversity. If we look at it in a different light, we will find that though different religions tell different things, they are simply telling it the same truth of life from a different point of view, might be from a different place and in a different language, too. If we keep in mind to learn from each of them, we will be able to follow the path of humanity.

इस बात को इस उदहारण से समझलो;

अगर किसी से कुछ सीखाना है तो –

• सेवा – श्रवण से
• मर्यादा – राम से
• अहिंसा – बुद्ध से
• मित्रता – कृष्ण से
• लक्ष्य – एकलव्य से
• दान – कर्ण से भगवान
• अल्लाह के प्रती श्रधा कैसी होनी चाहिये ये – इस्लाम से
• भगवान दयालु हे, वो करुना का सागर हे ये बाते हमे – ईसाई से
• और तपस्या – महावीर से…….

Today is Mahavir Jayanti, so let’s start with the lessons of Mahavir.

(1) किसी आत्मा की सबसे बड़ी गलती अपने असल रूप को ना पहचानना है,
और यह केवल आत्म ज्ञान प्राप्त कर के ठीक की जा सकती है

It means that firstly, we need to learn about ourselves.

(2) शांति और आत्म-नियंत्रण अहिंसा है

Non-violence is peace and self-control.

(3) भगवान् का अलग से कोई अस्तित्व नहीं है, हर कोई सही दिशा में सर्वोच्च प्रयास कर के देवत्त्व प्राप्त कर सकता है

It simply means that God is in heart of everyone, not in a different place.

(4) प्रत्येक आत्मा स्वयं में सर्वज्ञ और आनंदमय है, आनंद बाहर से नहीं आता…

Happiness comes from within.

(5) हर एक जीवित प्राणी के प्रति दया रखो, घृणा से विनाश होता है…

Be kind towards every living being. Hate can only destroy.

(6) सभी जीवित प्राणियों के प्रति सम्मान अहिंसा है…

Respect the lives of all the living beings.

(7) सभी मनुष्य अपने स्वयं के दोष की वजह से दुखी होते हैं,और वे खुद अपनी गलती सुधार कर प्रसन्न हो सकते हैं

Every human gets dejected because of their own faults. They can mend their mistakes and become happy.

(8) अहिंसा सबसे बड़ा धर्म है

There is no greater religion than non-violence.

Always; Add more good things in your life

Always; Minus the bad things from your life

Always; Divide your odds

Always; Multiply your goods.

(9) स्वयं से लड़ो, बाहरी दुश्मन से क्या लड़ना ? वह जो स्वयम पर विजय कर लेगा उसे आनंद की प्राप्ति होगी.

Gandhiji once said, you need to fight and race or battle with yourself, not with others. (It will help you to come out from any situation.)

(10) आपकी आत्मा से परे कोई भी शत्रु नहीं है.असली शत्रु आपके भीतर रहते हैं, वो शत्रु हैं क्रोध, घमंड, लालच, आसक्ति और नफरत.

In simple words, your enemies are inside you.

(11) खुद पर विजय प्राप्त करना लाखों शत्रुओं पर विजय पाने से बेहतर है.

Win yourself.

अरिहंत की बोली, सिद्धों की सेवा, आचार्यों के पथ, साधुओँ का साथ,अहिंसा का प्रचार…क्रोध को शांति से जीतें, दुष्ट को साधुता से जीतें, कृपण को दान से जीतें,और असत्य को सत्य से जीतें…

छोड़ो सारे वैर – विरोध, कभी न मन में लाना क्रोध,बच्चो यह सब बातें समझना, अच्छाई के मार्ग पर चलना,

त्याग ना करे, वो पीर नहीं होता, बरसों की तपस्या का फल है,वरना ऐसे ही कोई महावीर नहीं होता…

Why am I doing this?

Yes, I do accept that I don’t know everything about every religion but I believe that we don’t need to wait for that day when we will have enough knowledge. We can, with whatever knowledge we have right now, start with ourselves to make this world a peaceful place to live.

As Gandhiji once said, “Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
