Every year, the birthday of Louis Braille, i.e. 4th January is celebrated as Braille Day to honor his brilliant invention of the Braille, a language used by blind people, all over the world. This year, Saathi’s program to celebrate the same, was organized in C-6 on 24th of January.
The birthday of Louis Braille was celebrated by giving scholarships to the deserving students.
Help The Blind Foundation, Chennai had come to offer scholarships to the blind students. Mr. Satwalkar Sir and Mr. Kulkarni Sir personally addressed all the students in the presence of the Principal of Fergusson College, Dr. Ravindrasingh Pardeshi Sir and Teacher Coordinator of Saathi, Dr. Santosh Dhotre Sir.
Student volunteers were present as audience. The guests from Help The Blind Foundation helped students gain an insight in the lives of blind students’ lives. They spoke about life in general, and how, one can make sure that they make use of their complete potentials and achieve what they want to.
The Braille Day was celebrated in full enthusiasm and everyone went home happy and encouraged.
Help The Blind Foundation, Chennai, gave these to blind students scholarships to encourage them to study further.
The programme ended with a lovely breakfast, together, with the guests and students.
